RECYCLING YOUR BATTERIES

As manufacturers of Monbat and Haze batteries, we have a responsibility to manage their end-of-life, and we do. All batteries are recycled.

99% of a battery can be recycled. After sorting and separating, the components can be processed. The battery acid is neutralized, transforming it back into water. If this chemical process isn’t feasible, the acid is repurposed in manufacturing, such as for glass production. The plastic is cleaned and melted down, allowing it to be reused either as battery casings or converted into plastic pellets. The lead is also melted and purified for reuse.

To simplify the process, if you have a trade account with us, we will collect scrap batteries at no extra charge using our own vans. The scrap value is then credited to your account.

If you're using our trade counter, bring your old battery with you when you come to get a new replacement, and we will recycle it free of charge. We do not offer monetary value for scrap taken over the counter.

Regarding Lithium Ion batteries:

We do not accept any lithium batteries. Recycling lithium batteries poses significant risks, including fire, explosions, and exposure to toxic vapour clouds.

The costs associated with recycling lithium are high, and the future life of repurposed lithium batteries is uncertain. We will not store, hold, or transport lithium batteries. Please contact your original supplier for advice on lithium battery disposal.
